Days for Better Ways 2025: Where Innovation Meets Purpose

The 2025 Days for Better Ways event once again brought together leaders, innovators, and professionals from across healthcare and aged care for two days of meaningful discussion and collaboration.

Held at the picturesque Lancemore Werribee Mansion on 16–17 October, the event continued the conversation on this year’s returning theme, “Unlocking Innovation in Healthcare.” Sponsored by HLS Healthcare, it built on the foundations laid last year — exploring how innovation thrives when people lead with connection, empathy and purpose.

More than a conference, Days for Better Ways aims to create an open space for meaningful dialogue, where every exchange brings us closer to a shared vision built on collaboration, curiosity and better outcomes in care.

Inspiring New Ways of Thinking

The event opened with Dr. Martin Vesterby, a Danish physician who was our International Guest Speaker for this year’s Days for Better Ways. Martin shared how innovation flourishes when people, not technology, remain at its heart.

“It’s easy to find people who can build, but it’s difficult to find people who can scale and have focus. The magic happens when you can shift lanes to innovate.”

His words stayed with the room, both a challenge and an encouragement to think differently about what progress really means.

Alongside Martin Vesterby, Wayne Belcher, Aged Care Sector Specialist at Kefto, explored how to balance technology with compassion in his talk High Tech, High Touch – Getting the Balance of Care Right. Another inspiring voice was Caroline Eshak-Liuzzi, Founder and CEO of Creative Art Therapy Australia (CATA), who brought colour and warmth to the room with her message that creativity and joy are essential to recovery and wellbeing. Stephen Kingwell, General Manager at HLS Healthcare, rounded out the line-up by grounding the discussions in leadership. His perspective that progress depends on leaders who embrace change with empathy and clarity left the room inspired to take action within their own organisations.

A Gathering That Sparks Possibility

Throughout both days, a shared commitment to progress could be felt in every conversation.
Days for Better Ways continues to stand apart not for its scale, but for its depth, creating space for open dialogue, meaningful exchange and lasting professional relationships.

By revisiting the same theme, the 2025 event reinforced an important truth: innovation isn’t a single breakthrough. It’s an ongoing process, strengthened by curiosity, collaboration and care. As the event came to a close, the atmosphere was one of gratitude and inspiration, a feeling that the best ideas are born when people come together to imagine what better could look like.

As Days for Better Ways grows, so does its impact. The conversations started here don’t end when the event does. They continue in aged care facilities, hospitals and healthcare teams across Australia — shaping decisions, inspiring change and reminding us that the future of care is something we build together.

Be Part of the Next Chapter

The best ideas don’t happen in isolation. They’re sparked when passionate people come together to share their knowledge and reimagine what care can be.

Days for Better Ways isn’t just an event — it’s a movement of thinkers, innovators and leaders shaping the future of healthcare and aged care across Australia.

Join us next year to explore new perspectives, connect with inspiring minds and uncover fresh possibilities for better care.
